"LETTER EXPERT" MOST IMPORTANT
HOME-SCHOOL ASSIGNMENT
_________________________________’ s name was chosen today for his/her first and most important home-school assignment.
For the entire kindergarten year, your child will be the “Letter-Sound” expert for the letter ______________ and will help his/her classmates in becoming experts too!
Please help your child to:
Recognize and say the name of their letter, both uppercase and lowercase.
Tell what sound the letter makes.
Practice reading the alphabet book for their letter.
Practice their “silly sentence” that matches the alphabet picture card:
Bring something that will fit in the sandwich bag that starts with your child’s letter (examples: Rr- rubber band, rice, toy ring). This item will stay in the bag and will be stapled to our reading wall for the remainder of the year, so please make sure that it is an item that will not be missed by your child and your family.
Have fun putting together the alphabet puzzle for their letter!
TRY TO DO THIS ALL BY TOMORROW AND RETURN ALL ITEMS ABOVE IN THE TOTE BAG.
After your child shares their letter with the class tomorrow, their picture will be placed by his/her letter on the reading wall. After successfully completing their homework assignment, your child will be able to serve as a resource for other children in naming that letter and letter sound for the remainder of the year.
Thank you so much for all your help!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Dicks
